Dr. Christena Roberts is a Forensic Pathologist who trained in Florida and has practiced as a Medical Examiner in a both Florida and Virginia. Her passion for the field of forensics and her desire to be the voice for the dead started when she was a lab assistant for Forensic Anthropologist Dr. William Maples. Through him she learned the importance of education. It is not enough for us to study disease and trauma. She desires also to work as an integrated team to identify alarming trends and educate in order to prevent future deaths.

Dr. Roberts completed her interdisciplinary undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in chemistry and a year of genetics research. Her medical training was at University of South Florida in Tampa and Anatomic Pathology training was at both University of Florida and University of South Florida. Her research and AAFS presentation during residency involved evaluation of morphine levels in autopsy cases. As she entered medical school with the intent to go to into the field of Forensic Pathology she had concentrated studies in Forensics during residency. Dr. Roberts completed her credentialing year were spent as an Associate Medical Examiner during residency. Dr. Roberts completed her Forensic Pathology Fellowship at the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office in Tampa Florida.

Dr. Roberts practiced as an Associate Medical Examiner for District 5 in Florida from 2005 to 2007. While there she was involved in child death review teams and speaking to the family services concerning elder abuse. Dr. Roberts served as an Assistant Chief Medical Examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Roanoke office from 2007-2010. While in Roanoke Dr. Roberts participated in the Domestic Violence review team and enjoyed teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Roberts currently operates CJ Consulting of America (LLC), a company specializing in forensic pathology consulting and private autopsies. She can be reached at cj-consulting@live.com.
