COURT PREPARATION AND TESTIMONY
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This three (3) hour CEH offering is designed to assist students in learning basic principles and techniques of courtroom behavior. The course provides the necessary tools to prepare all persons called upon for courtroom testimony and introduces the student to court procedures and preparations for giving effective forensic court testimony.
The laws, rules of evidence and rules of procedure may vary from Court to Court and State to State. This course does not address local laws and procedures
The course is offered in an online self-paced self-study format with a written final exam. All examinations are instructor graded.
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Familiar with courtroom definitions
- Familiar with the courtroom structure and personnel within the court
- Aware of basic courtroom procedures and protocols
- Aware of the general qualifications necessary before being allowed to testify
- Familiar with the appropriate demeanor and attire while providing testimony
- Cognizant of the ethical considerations when presenting testimony
- Familiar with the subpoena and its legal process

PRESENTATION METHOD: PDF format.
TEACHING METHOD: Self-paced.
DURATION: All course requirements must be completed within 6 months of enrollment.
METHOD OF COURSE GRADING: Pass/fail grading system. Course examination is multiple choice and true/false statements. When a score of less than 70% is received, the examination may be taken one time without charge. METHOD OF COURSE EVALUATION: After successful completion of the course examination, a course evaluation must be submitted to email@example.com.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: Upon completion of the course content, examination with a passing grade of 70% and evaluation, student will receive a certificate of completion.
REQUIRED COURSE MATERIALS: All readings are incorporated in the course.
